This policy explains what information Egg Boil Timer (eggboiltimer.com) collects when you use the website or the installed app, why, and the choices you have. Information we collect ourselves
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the site is used we count page views and timer use on our own server. For each visit we record the page, the language, the type of device, the website that referred you, the page load time and whether the timer was started or finished. To count unique visitors we create a random-looking identifier from your IP address, your browser type and the current date. This identifier changes every day and cannot be turned back into an IP address. We do not store your IP address and we do not use cookies for these statistics.
Technical logs
Our server keeps a short technical log of recent requests (time, page, response status, device type) and of errors, so we can keep the service running and secure. Your IP address is processed for a moment to protect the site against abuse, but it is not written to these logs.
Data stored on your device
The timer remembers your last choices (cooking method, doneness, egg size, sound and screen settings) in your browser's local storage. Your answer to the cookie banner is stored the same way. If you install the app, your browser keeps a copy of the site's files so the timer also works offline. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Cookies and similar technologies
Egg Boil Timer itself does not set cookies for visitors. Third-party tools may set cookies, but only after you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner:
- Analytics — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us see which pages are used and where people have difficulties. Clarity may record how the page is scrolled and clicked.

- Technical logs: only the most recent entries are kept and older ones are deleted automatically.
- Data on your device: until you clear your browser data or uninstall the app.
- Third-party cookies: as described in the policies of Google and Microsoft.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not store information that identifies you, we usually cannot link any data to you; you can remove everything stored on your device by clearing your browser data. Children
